Ajarn Fu is a sak yant master who works from a studio off Khu Bon Road in Khan Na Yao, in Bangkok's northeast, and traces his family's lineage back generations. He hand-taps every design with a bamboo needle rather than a machine, and he treats each tattoo as a spiritual commitment between you, the yant and the tradition, so expect to talk through why you want it before he starts.

It's by appointment only. Book by phone, email or WhatsApp through his website, which also explains the deposit. It's a long taxi ride from central Bangkok, so leave plenty of time for traffic, and ask for the price before the session.
