Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Why go, and how to do it well
Rabbit Hole Phuket is a café and small farm on the jungle edge at Pa Klok, in the quiet northeast of the island, and it's a family stop more than a restaurant. Goats, miniature goats and ducks wander the grounds freely, horses, a cow, geese and rabbits live in their own little cottages, and some of the rabbits share an air-conditioned café room where children can sit with them. Around the farm there are two ponds, one with a small waterfall and swings, plus a short zipline and a little train for younger kids.
The café side is better than it needs to be. The menu covers Thai and Western dishes with good vegetarian options and a children's set, plates run about ฿200–400, and the food comes out fast. Visitors report that entry to the farm itself is free, so a meal or a donation is the fair way to pay for the visit. It's open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, and a morning is cooler for walking around.

Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
