Osteria Sendi
Tucked away on Pattaya Tai Road, this small Italian restaurant has earned a devoted following among both expats and visitors for its genuinely authentic approach to Italian cooking. The intimate, tastefully decorated space creates an atmosphere that feels closer to a neighbourhood trattoria in Italy than a tourist-oriented restaurant, making it something of a hidden gem worth seeking out. The menu leans into classic Italian comfort with dishes that have drawn consistent praise from diners. Highlights noted by visitors include a tenderloin cooked to order, shrimp gnocchi served in generous portions, and sides that complement the mains well. The kitchen's commitment to authentic flavours — rich, warm, and carefully prepared — sets it apart from the more generic Italian options found elsewhere in Pattaya. The staff are frequently mentioned for their warmth and professionalism, adding to the overall experience. Good to know: Osteria Sendi opens exclusively for dinner, from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM, seven days a week, so plan the day's activities around an evening visit rather than a lunch stop. The restaurant is small, which contributes to its charm but also means seating is limited. Given its strong reputation and compact size, arriving earlier in the evening — around 5:00 to 6:00 PM — is advisable, particularly during peak tourist season, to secure a table without a long wait.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
