Krua Sabai Thai Food
Sitting opposite Wat Thung Samo on the main road in Phanom Thuan District, Krua Sabai Thai Food draws visitors with its open, garden-style atmosphere and traditional bamboo pavilion seating. The grounds are spacious and well laid out, with a lotus pond adding to the relaxed rural ambience — a pleasant contrast to the more tourist-facing dining options found closer to Kanchanaburi town.
The menu leans into bold, flavour-forward Thai cooking. Standout dishes from visitors include stir-fried frog with basil, a notably spicy fish tom yum, and a richly seasoned catfish curry. The kitchen covers a wide variety of dishes, making it a practical choice for groups or families with different tastes. The venue also functions as a bar and live music space, with multiple seating zones to suit different occasions. Pricing draws mixed opinions — most find it reasonable, though a few note it sits slightly above expectations for the area.
Krua Sabai Thai Food suits travellers exploring rural Kanchanaburi who want a genuine local dining experience away from the usual tourist trail. As opening hours are not confirmed in advance, it is worth checking locally or arriving in the afternoon when the venue is known to be open. The setting is family-friendly, and the relaxed pace of the place makes it a good spot to linger over a meal.

All the food was delicious. 1. The stir-fried frog with basil is a must-order. The flavor is intense. 2. The fish tom yum soup was incredibly spicy. 3. The catfish curry was delicious and flavorful. I loved it. 4. The fried chicken was crispy and delicious, perfect for countering the spiciness. The service was excellent. The food came out quickly. A local recommended it. I had high expectations, but it was much more delicious than I expected.
A charming place to dine out with family; they have a few zones where you can choose what you fancy. The food was good and reasonably priced. Will be back next time 😁
The shop is located opposite Wat Thung Samo. The atmosphere is good, spacious, and the food is delicious. However, the price is a bit high. The service is good.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.

Loud, tacky, unfiltered and worth one night of your trip, ideally between 7 and 10pm.
