TANYA Baan Bon Doi
Compare prices
Set on a hillside in the Doi Phra Baht area of Chiang Rai, TANYA Baan Bon Doi offers a quieter alternative to city-centre hotels without sacrificing convenience. The property sits roughly ten minutes from town, providing easy access to local markets, the White Temple, and the Chiang Rai Balloon Fiesta, while maintaining a genuinely tranquil atmosphere with views toward the surrounding mountains. Rooms are generously sized, functioning more like studio apartments with separate kitchen areas and bathrooms, including bathtubs. The property features a swimming pool and laundry facilities, and guests consistently highlight the welcoming and knowledgeable host, Tanya, as a standout part of the experience. The accommodation suits both short stays and longer retreats, and some guests reside here on a more permanent basis — a detail that speaks to the comfort and livability of the property. It appeals particularly to travellers looking to decompress away from busier tourist areas while keeping northern Thailand's key attractions within easy reach. Good to know: The hillside location means a car, motorbike, or arranged transport is the most practical way to get around, as the property is not easily walkable to the town centre. Chiang Rai's cooler season from November through February is an ideal time to make the most of outdoor spaces including the pool area. Booking directly through the hotel website at tanyabaanbondoi.com is recommended for up-to-date availability and rates. The property operates around the clock, making flexible check-in and check-out straightforward for travellers with early flights or late arrivals.

Visitor Reviews
TANYA is an amazing getaway! A friend lives here full time, but there are rooms to rent by the night as well. Made it super easy to stay close to them and was a perfect spot to get away from tourist dense downtown, but still be less than 10 minutes away from anything you need. Nestled on a beautiful hillside the structures are modern, but still hold to a local aesthetic. Rooms are lovely, with everything you would expect of a high-end hotel. The property is gated, and parking is free. Having coffee on the veranda or by the pool as the sun comes up over the countryside is such a tremendous experience. I hope you get to enjoy this place like I have. I'm already looking forward to coming back!
We stayed here during the CR Balloon Fiesta and it’s a good location for that. The rooms are very large, more like a studio apartment with separate kitchen and bathroom. Includes bathtub with abundant very hot water. Strong air con. Comfortable bedding and soft towels. Includes basic toiletries like toothbrushes and shower gel. Only five minutes to drive into town for dinner or cafe and 15-20 minutes to major attractions like White Temple and Singha Park. Highly recommended, fresh and comfortable place to stay with nice views.
Where do I begin? Tanya - the host, was accommodating, warm and extremely insightful. The rooms were neat and well presented. The location was fantastic. The amenities like the pool and the laundry were nice, and the wildlife was pretty cool too. The attention to detail here is superb. I would definitely return. Probably one of the best stays not just in Thailand but anywhere. I’ve spent a lot of time across Thailand and Chiang Rai is easily the nicest area I’ve been. Especially with this hospitality
