La Maison Blanche Chiang Rai
Tucked away in the Rop Wiang area of Chiang Rai, La Maison Blanche is a small, intimate guesthouse that offers a genuine escape from the tourist trail. Surrounded by nature and run by attentive, welcoming hosts, it attracts travellers seeking calm and comfort rather than crowds. The property operates as a private guest room lodging, making it a particularly good fit for solo travellers or couples looking for a quieter, more personal alternative to larger hotels. Guests consistently highlight the warmth of the hosts as a defining feature of the stay. Breakfasts are home-cooked and varied, with the host's Pad Thai drawing special praise from visitors who rate it above what is typically found at local markets. The presence of resident animals adds to the relaxed, homey atmosphere, and the rooms are noted for being clean and well-kept. The overall feeling described by guests is one of safety, cosiness, and genuine care. For practical planning, La Maison Blanche maintains a Facebook page as its primary online presence, so prospective guests are advised to reach out through that channel to check availability and arrange bookings in advance. Given the small scale of the property, rooms are likely limited, and early contact is recommended, particularly during Chiang Rai's peak cool season between November and February when accommodation across the region fills quickly.

Visitor Reviews
I had a truly pleasant stay at La Maison Blanche. The two hosts were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. One of the highlights was the presence of lovely animals around the property, which added a unique charm and made the atmosphere even more relaxing. The environment here is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful escape. While it’s located a bit outside the city, getting a Grab is easy and convenient, and the distance actually makes it an ideal retreat from the busy streets of Chiang Rai. I highly recommend La Maison Blanche to anyone visiting Chiang Rai—you’ll find comfort, tranquility, and genuine hospitality all in one place. I will definitely come back again :)
If you’re looking for a calm, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by nature and away from tourists, this is the place! Tam was a perfect host, cooking a variety of delicious breakfasts and providing lots of useful information on where to go. Room and terrace great with lots of original touches (chandelier and outdoor tub!), quality linen and the biggest best bed so far in our trip. We enjoyed walking round the nearby lake and up to hilltop temple. Grab taxis easy and cheap for dinner in town. Make sure you catch the Clock Tower sound and light shows on the hour! Pad Thai restaurant is great; Indian restaurant also good. Enjoy!
The owner was absolutely wonderful! He was very welcoming, helpful, and his hospitality made us feel right at home. The food was amazing—his Pad Thai was even better than the one sold at the Night Bazaar! The room was very clean and comfortable. The only downside was that we came during the rainy season, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the hot tub. But overall, everything was exceptional!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
