Krabi to Koh Phangan

Lomprayah's coach leaves its Krabi town office at 08:00 and 11:30, crosses to Donsak pier and connects with the catamaran, which calls at Nathon on Samui and lands at Thong Sala at 12:45 and 16:30, for ฿1,200. The 09:30 connects with a speedboat that lands at 14:50 for the same fare. For ฿150–200 more the ticket carries on to your Phangan hotel, about an hour later, anywhere on the island except Thong Nai Pan.

Boonsiri's coach leaves its Krabi office at 10:00 and lands at Thong Sala at 15:05 for ฿1,200, or at your Phangan hotel at 16:15 for ฿1,350. It's the later start, and the fare is the same as Lomprayah's.

Most people stay in Ao Nang, and both companies pick up there. Lomprayah collects from Ao Nang hotels about an hour before each departure for ฿150 on top of the fare, and from fixed points in Krabi town for ฿100. Boonsiri's hotel transfer covers Ao Nang, Ao Nammao, Nopparat Thara, Klong Muang and Tubkaek, leaves at 09:00 and reaches Thong Sala at 15:05 for ฿1,200, with no surcharge, or ฿1,300 from Krabi town hotels. Railay has no road, so from there you take the longtail to Ao Nang first.

The cheaper tickets use the car ferries from Donsak, which take about 2.5 hours against an hour on the catamaran. Phantip's bus leaves Krabi Bus Terminal at 10:15 and connects with Raja's ferry from about ฿515, and its 13:30 lands at Thong Sala at 20:30 for about ฿560. Several agencies run vans from Krabi and Ao Nang between about 10:30 and 13:00 that reach Phangan at 17:00 to 20:00 for about ฿480–620.

If you'd rather travel overnight, vans leave at 15:30 and 16:30 for Surat Thani town and the night boat, which sails from the riverfront at 22:00 or 23:00 and reaches Thong Sala at about 05:30, for about ฿530 on one ticket. Our Surat Thani to Koh Phangan guide has more on the night boat.

Bangkok Airways flies Krabi to Samui once a day, leaving at 13:45 and landing at 14:30, for about ฿3,900–4,800. From the airport it's five to ten minutes by Grab to the Bangrak piers, and Lomprayah's boats to Thong Sala leave until 17:30, 30 minutes across for ฿350. The Haad Rin Queen's 17:00 ferry and 18:30 speedboat go straight to Haad Rin.

Going back, Lomprayah leaves Thong Sala at 08:00 and 11:00 by catamaran, reaching its Krabi office at 12:30 and 15:30, and at 08:05 by speedboat, reaching it at 13:00, all for ฿1,200. A drop at a Krabi town or Ao Nang hotel is ฿1,350, arriving an hour later, and Railay is ฿1,600–1,800. Lomprayah also picks up from Phangan hotels at 07:00 and 10:00 for ฿1,400. Songserm's 12:40 speedboat and bus reaches Krabi Bus Terminal at 17:30 for about ฿1,500, and Phantip's early ferries at 05:00 and 05:30 reach Krabi at about 13:00 for about ฿560. The night boats leave Phangan between 20:00 and 22:00 and connect with vans that reach Krabi the next morning for about ฿550–800.
