Hua Hin Night Markets
The town market every night, Cicada and Tamarind at the weekend
Hua Hin has a night market every evening, and the best one depends on the day. The Hua Hin Night Market in the center of town closes Dechanuchit Road to traffic every night from 18:00, with seafood, street food and souvenir stalls. At the weekend the action moves 4 km south toward Khao Takiab, where Cicada Market, the arts-and-crafts market with live shows, runs from Friday to Sunday, and Tamarind Market across the road, an open-air food court with a stage, runs from Thursday to Sunday.
Add Saphan Pla's seafood stalls on the fishing pier at the weekend, Pae Mai's local market on Tuesdays and Cha-am's on Wednesdays, and there's something different on every night of the week. Below is which market is on each night, what each one is good for and how to pay and get there.

Hua Hin's Night Markets, Ranked
Ranked on the food, the setting and how easily each one fits into a trip. The hours and prices come from our records and recent visitors rather than my own visits, so check the day before you plan a night around one.
1. Cicada Market, Suan Si Park, Khao Takiab road
Best overall, for art and showsHua Hin's weekend art market, opposite the Hyatt Regency about 4 km south of the center, open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 16:00 to 23:00, with free entry. Independent makers sell clothes, jewelry, ceramics and original paintings in the Art A La Mode and Art Factory zones, and the shows are the other half of the evening, with music on the open-air stage from 19:00 and street performers in the amphitheater at 19:45 and 21:00.
The food court takes prepaid coupon cards rather than cash. Load ฿200–300 at the kiosk to start, top up if you need to, and cash in what's left at the exit. Prices sit above a local market, fair for the setting.
- When to go
- Friday to Sunday, 16:00 to 23:00
2. Tamarind Market, Across the road from Cicada
Best for eatingAn open-air food court rather than a shopping market, with plenty of tables, a band on the stage and food that runs from Thai grills, curries and desserts to sashimi, satay, tacos and pork knuckle, so a group that can't agree on dinner is sorted. It's open Thursday to Sunday from 17:00 to 23:00, the stalls take cash or a QR payment directly, entry is free and parking costs ฿50. On a Thursday, when Cicada is shut, it's the weekend market that's open.
- When to go
- Thursday to Sunday, 17:00 to 23:00
3. Hua Hin Night Market, Dechanuchit Road, the town center
Every night, in the centerThe town's original market closes Dechanuchit Road to traffic every evening from 18:00 to around midnight. The stalls sell clothes, souvenirs and handicrafts, but the food is why people come, grilled seafood, pad thai, satay, roti, mango sticky rice and fruit shakes, with seafood platters from about ฿200. It's smaller than many expect and aimed at visitors, so prices run higher than local restaurants. The sit-down seafood restaurants are at the western end, and the busiest hours are about 19:00 to 21:00.
- When to go
- Every night, 18:00 to midnight
4. Saphan Pla Night Market, The fishing pier, Soi 55
Seafood by the waterA small weekend market strung along the working fishing pier, with tables facing the water, a band some evenings and seafood as the reason to come. Reviewers name the grilled squid, scallops, tom yum and fresh longan juice. It runs from 17:00 on Friday to Sunday, and one listing adds Thursdays. It's not big, but on a warm evening it's the best setting of any market in town.
- When to go
- Friday to Sunday from 17:00
5. Pae Mai Tuesday Market, Khan Khlong Road, north of the center
Tuesday, at local pricesA once-a-week market from 15:00 to 22:00 on Tuesdays, where residents shop after work and the food is priced for people who eat here every week. Cheap Thai street food, fresh produce, clothes and household goods fill eight lanes of food and two of goods, and there's seating and live music. Come at about 15:00–16:00 for a calm look, or after 18:00 when it's busiest.
- When to go
- Tuesdays, 15:00 to 22:00
6. Patio Old Town Market, Soi 72/2, the town center
A quieter market near the centerA small evening market in a residential pocket near the main night market, formerly Chatsila, with street food, crafts, clothes and souvenirs and a mostly local crowd. It opens at 17:30 and closes at 23:00, or 22:30 on Wednesday and Sunday, and it's shut on Tuesday. Treat it as dinner rather than shopping.
- When to go
- Wednesday to Monday from 17:30
Patio Oldtown Market4.7(414)Mon 17:30–23:00, Wed 17:30–22:30, Thu–Sat 17:30–23:00, Sun 17:30–22:30
7. Cha-am Wednesday Night Market, Cha-am, the next town north
Wednesday, for the foodCha-am's weekly market, from 16:00 to 21:00 on Wednesdays only, is stalls and food at local prices, with ribs, curries, noodles, desserts and fruit, plus clothes and household goods. Many of the same vendors work Pae Mai on Tuesday, which has more seating. Get there early, because it's packed by the evening.
- When to go
- Wednesdays, 16:00 to 21:00
8. Dinosaur Market, Soi Hua Hin 56
Cheap local dinner, any nightA covered local food market open daily from 13:00 to 21:00, though most stalls only get going at about 16:00. Oysters are shucked in front of you, BBQ fish costs about ฿139, and there are trays of Thai dishes to take home, plus a small bar and a children's play area. It's under a roof, which helps in the rainy months.
- When to go
- Every day, from about 16:00
9. Lunar Market, Hin Lek Fai, west of town
A food court with parkingA purpose-built open-air food court a short drive inland, open every day from 16:30 to midnight, with many stalls, live music most evenings, reasonable prices and parking on site. It rarely feels crowded, so it suits anyone with a car or scooter who wants an easier dinner than the busy markets in town.
- When to go
- Every day, 16:30 to midnight
Cicada or Tamarind?
Do both if it's a weekend, because they're across the road from each other. Cicada is the one to browse, with art, crafts, clothes and the stage shows, and its food court works on coupon cards. Tamarind is the one to eat at, with more tables, more choice and cash at the stalls. The easiest plan is to arrive at Cicada at about 17:00 while the stalls are quiet, walk across to Tamarind for dinner, and come back to Cicada for the 19:45 or 21:00 show. On a Thursday only Tamarind is open.

The Morning Markets
For the markets the town shops at, go in the morning. Chatchai Market, in the center beside the night market, opens at 05:00 (03:30 on Sunday) and closes at 16:00, with seafood, fruit, spices and flowers, and the best of the seafood is gone by mid-morning. The Hua Hin Day Market nearby runs from 06:00 to 16:00, and its dried seafood stalls and mango sticky rice are the things reviewers mention. Both are working wet markets, so expect smells and wet floors, and bring cash in small notes. Huana Market in Nong Kae, open daily from 14:00 to 20:00, fills the hot afternoon hours with cheap local street food.
Getting to the Markets and Paying
The Hua Hin Night Market, Patio Old Town, Chatchai and the pier are all walkable from hotels in the center. Cicada and Tamarind are about 4 km south, toward Khao Takiab, where the green songthaews run along the main road for about ฿20–40, or a Grab is easy to find. Lunar, Huana and Dinosaur are easiest by Grab or scooter, and Cha-am is the next town north.
Bring cash in ฿20, ฿50 and ฿100 notes. Most stalls take cash only, Tamarind also takes QR payments, and Cicada's food court needs a coupon card bought with cash, with the balance refunded at the exit. Bring about ฿500–1,000 a person for an evening of eating.
