Lunar market huahin

4.7(197 reviews)

Lunar Market Hua Hin is a purpose-built open-air food court and evening market located in the Hin Lek Fai district, a short drive from central Hua Hin. The focal point is the food, with a wide variety of stalls offering different dishes to choose from in a single sitting — closer in concept to a food court than a traditional street market. Live music adds to the atmosphere most evenings, keeping the mood lively without feeling overwhelming. Visitors consistently note the cleanliness, reasonable prices, and the fact that it rarely feels overcrowded, making it a comfortable alternative to the busier markets closer to town. The setting is relaxed and well-organised, with ample sealed parking on site — a practical advantage for those arriving by car or scooter. The market suits those looking for a casual dinner out in a sociable environment rather than serious souvenir shopping. It is worth noting that travellers staying near central Hua Hin's night markets, such as Tamarind, may find the variety and convenience of those closer options more suitable for a single visit. Good to know: Lunar Market operates every day of the week from 4:30 PM until midnight, so scheduling a visit is straightforward. The site is primarily food-focused, so visitors coming specifically for handicrafts or clothing shopping may find the range limited. Cash is recommended, though mobile payments may be accepted at some stalls. Arriving early in the evening tends to offer a more relaxed experience before the music and crowds build.

I had a fantastic evening with my beer The atmosphere was lively but relaxed — perfect for winding down with friends. The music was just right — upbeat but not overpowering, making it easy to enjoy conversations. The stir-fried chicken noodles — absolutely delicious! Full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and honestly the best dish of the night. Paired with a cold beer, it was just unbeatable. Great food, good vibes, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommended! ........... I visited Lunar Market again recently — and wow, I’m really impressed by how much the place has improved! There’s now a wider variety of food to choose from, with so many tempting options that it’s hard to pick just one. Everything I tried was tasty and freshly made. The live band was fantastic — great music that adds the perfect energy to the night without being too loud. The atmosphere feels even better than before — lively, friendly, and full of positive vibes. It’s clear that more people have discovered this spot, as there were more customers this time, but it still felt relaxed and enjoyable. It’s amazing to see how Lunar Market keeps getting better each time I visit. Great food, great music, great mood — definitely a place worth coming back to again and again!

This is new food court market similar to Baan Khun Por Food Court but this time at Hin Lek Fai. This seems to be a purpose built facility. There is ample sealed surface parking which is excellent and a welcome addition. There’s a stage which means live music most nights. The advertised opening time is 4:30pm but I suggest arriving no earlier than 6pm. Anyone who has experience with Thai food court markets knows “opening time” is a rubbery concept and almost no one is ready for business at opening time. 😂 There’s a good variety of food options, mainly Thai, but interesting. You won’t have too much trouble finding a seat and table here. There’s plenty across the site. Lighting is good so you’ll be able to see what you’re eating and drinking. Toilets are clean and convenient. Prices seem reasonable. It’s certainly worth a visit but don’t bother getting here early.

Wonderful open air restaurant with (too) many stands to chose your dinner from. Live music adds to great atmosphere but they could turn down the volume 1 or 2 notches to make it possible to have a conversation without yelling or screaming. The food court is very clean. Worth the trip for the food and nice open air feel. If you wish, there is a nice dance area in front of the stage. Enjoy.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls

Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.

Arrive Early or Late

Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.

Be Cautious with Tailors

Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
