Bang Sak Beach

Bang Sak Beach is a long, relatively undeveloped stretch of coastline situated north of Khao Lak in Phang Nga Province. Backed by casuarina trees and largely free from commercial development, it offers a peaceful alternative to the busier beaches further south. The shoreline is broad and sandy, with clear water that makes it suitable for swimming during calmer sea conditions, and the relaxed atmosphere draws visitors looking for a more low-key beach experience. The beach has a distinctly local feel, with fewer tourists and minimal infrastructure compared to nearby Khao Lak proper. Visitors can expect open space, natural surroundings, and a slower pace — ideal for those who prefer a quiet day by the sea over a resort-style setting. Small food vendors and modest facilities are available nearby, though the area remains largely uncommercialized. Good to know: Bang Sak Beach is best visited between November and April, when the Andaman Sea is calmer and weather conditions are most favorable. Outside of this window, strong waves and monsoon conditions can make swimming unsafe. As facilities on the beach itself are limited, visitors are advised to bring their own supplies, including water, sunscreen, and snacks. The beach is accessible by car or motorbike from Khao Lak town, making it an easy half-day trip.
