Sityodtong Camp

4.9(69 reviews)

Sityodtong is one of the most revered names in Muay Thai — a Pattaya camp whose lineage runs back to the late master Yodtong Senanan, who trained generations of champions and shaped the modern sport. Training here is a pilgrimage as much as a workout: the gym remains old-school and family-run, the walls carry decades of fight history, and the coaching keeps Kru Yodtong's technical tradition alive through trainers who came up inside it. Fighters from around the world — including some who went on to build famous gyms and promotions of their own — treat the Sityodtong name with a reverence very few camps anywhere command. Training runs six days a week, with the group session in the afternoon in the traditional camp mould — built on running, long pad rounds, bag work, clinch and sparring, with foreigners training beside the camp's Thai fighters rather than in a separate tourist program. The polish of the resort-style camps is absent, and that is exactly the point. Good to know: contact the camp ahead to arrange training and ask about simple accommodation at or near the gym; this is a working camp, not a hotel, and arrangements are personal rather than automated. The camp sits on the Naklua side of Pattaya, quieter than the central strip. Come with basic fitness and humility — you will be looked after, and worked.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
