Roctopus™ | Koh Tao Diving Center

4.9(2,315 reviews)

Roctopus Dive is a well-established diving centre located on Koh Tao's popular Sairee Beach, catering to everyone from complete beginners to experienced divers looking to explore the island's rich marine environment. The centre offers a range of PADI courses, fun dives, and guided trips to the underwater sites that have made Koh Tao one of Southeast Asia's most recognised diving destinations, including coral reefs, swim-throughs, and opportunities to encounter sea turtles, reef sharks, and diverse tropical fish. The atmosphere at Roctopus is consistently described by visitors as friendly, professional, and welcoming, with small group sizes that allow instructors to give individual attention. The multilingual team works with divers of varying skill levels, and the centre's equipment is well-maintained. Whether completing an open water certification or joining a casual fun dive, visitors tend to note the staff's patience and depth of local knowledge as standout qualities. Good to know: the centre operates seven days a week from 09:00 to 18:00, so walk-ins are possible, but booking in advance is recommended, particularly during the high season between December and April when availability fills quickly. Visiting the website before arrival allows travellers to compare course options and pricing, and to check current conditions and scheduling.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
