Mr. Ung's Safari
Mr. Ung's Safari is a tour operator based in Bo Put, Koh Samui, running guided excursions through the island's interior by army jeep. Tours take in tropical jungle roads, mountain viewpoints, local temples, and stops to see rescue elephants, with lunch served at a jungle restaurant included in the experience. A fishing trip option is also available, with the day's catch cooked and eaten on the spot. The format suits families, couples, and groups looking for an active, structured day out that goes beyond the beach. Guides speak good English and the itineraries are well-organised, with jeep-top seating through the jungle among the more memorable elements of the tour. The combination of wildlife, local culture, scenery, and an informal water fight along the way gives the experience a lively, varied character that appeals to a wide range of visitors. Mr. Ung's Safari is open daily from 8:00am to 10:30pm, allowing for both early departures and late evening bookings. Prospective visitors should check the website at mrungtourskohsamui.com for current tour options, pricing, and departure times. Booking in advance is recommended, particularly during peak season, as places on popular departures fill quickly. Lightweight clothing, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes are practical choices for the jungle portions of the tour.

Visitor Reviews
Had an awesome day with Mr. Ung’s Safari Tour! We started with a fishing trip — super fun and caught 11 fish and ate them🎣. Was so good we then decided to try the safari ride through the island the next day which was incredible. We went off-road, saw waterfalls, temples, and some amazing viewpoints. The guides were friendly and made everything fun. Definitely one of the best things we did in Samui. Highly recommend if you want a bit of adventure!
In 2023 I took my family to Koh Samui and we had an amazing time doing fun activities. We booked a day trip with Mr. Ung's Jungle Safari and they took us to awesome temples, jungle roads, mountain views, and waterfalls! I will book with them again hopefully this year!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
