Kew Mae Pan is the walk worth planning a Doi Inthanon day around, a two to three hour loop along an open ridge high on the mountain. It opens only from 1 November to 31 May.
You can't walk it alone. A local Hmong guide is compulsory, ฿200 per group of up to about ten, hired at the trailhead, and the park's ฿300 entry for foreign adults applies too. Most visitors combine it with the twin royal pagodas and the Ang Ka boardwalk at the summit in the same day.
