Hongthong Muay Thai

Hongthong Muay Thai sits on Chiang Mai's east side, on the San Kamphaeng road out of the city, and has built its reputation on being the gym where everyone fits. Complete beginners get patient fundamentals, experienced visitors get worked properly, and the gym's own Thai and foreign fighters appear regularly on the city's stadium cards with the whole gym in attendance. The trainers are experienced northern stadium fighters and the coaching carries the region's technical, rhythm-first style.

The group session runs in the late afternoon six days a week — with morning training and privates arranged for regulars — covering pads, bags, clinch and leveled sparring. The location is a practical middle ground — ten to fifteen minutes from the old city by scooter, far enough for space and local prices, close enough that town, cafés and rest-day life stay easy. Simple accommodation sits near the gym and the city's full range is a short ride away.
