Banchamek Gym is the camp of Buakaw Banchamek, one of the most famous Muay Thai fighters of his era, at Buakaw Village in the Mae Taeng countryside north of Chiang Mai. Two of the Chiang Mai gym guides I checked include it, and it's the one people make the trip for.
The gym's site says it opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Monday, and it sells training as monthly session packs. A private two-hour session for foreign visitors is ฿1,200, and the NOW Muay Thai booking site puts a group session at ฿800. Mae Taeng is about an hour's drive from the Old City, so come for a full day or book somewhere nearby.
