Tour With Thai (TWT) Ayutthaya
Located in Ayutthaya, this small, welcoming operation serves as a practical base for travellers who want to explore the ancient city's sprawling temple ruins at their own pace. While the name suggests guided tours, the shop's core offering is bicycle and motorbike hire, making it a popular first stop for independent visitors arriving in the former royal capital. Bicycles rent for 60 baht per day, come with a lock, and are described by visitors as sturdy and reliable despite their modest appearance. The shop also assists with transport-related needs, including bus ticket bookings. The atmosphere is relaxed and personal, with the English-speaking owner frequently praised for her warmth, humour, and practical advice on navigating the city. Visitors report that she helps match travellers to the right vehicle for their needs and offers guidance on which temples and sites to prioritise. The shop also appears to have a pair of resident cats, which several visitors have noted fondly. Good to know: Ayutthaya's major temple complexes are spread across a wide area, making cycling a far more practical option than walking. The shop is open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, so early arrivals can pick up a bike and get straight out to the sites. The cooler months between November and February offer the most comfortable conditions for a full day of outdoor cycling. Contact the shop through their Facebook page to confirm current rental options and availability before visiting.

Visitor Reviews
Overall, it was a great experience with the bicycles. The price was 60 baht per day. They didn’t ask for ID verification or a photocopy, at least for us. We explored the major temples on a sunny day using the bicycles at our own pace. The kind lady at the reception explained the routes clearly for optimal navigation. We were allowed to keep the bicycles until the return time of 7 p.m. They also suggested an evening boat tour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for 200 baht per person. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do it due to a lack of time, but we definitely recommend it. Wish you all the best.
I accidentally booked my bus ticket for the wrong day, but the lady at customer service was very friendly and helpful in changing it to today without any problems. The lady at the phone was very polite, patient, and professional. She even offered to call me back so I wouldn’t have to pay high phone charges, which I really appreciated. Overall a very smooth and positive experience
Awesome lady who works in the shop. She was very helpful and witty. The atmosphere was really nice. The bikes might look old, but work great! Bonus: 2 cute cats in the shop, a mother and a baby. Go get your bikes from twt!!!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
