Samma Karuna

Samma Karuna is the beating heart of Koh Phangan's west-coast wellness scene, an awakening and healing school near Haad Chao Phao, on the Srithanu stretch that has grown into one of Asia's densest concentrations of yoga and conscious-living spaces. The format is a rolling program rather than a fixed retreat — students join for a week or several, building days from morning meditation and yoga through breathwork, movement and healing workshops — at prices deliberately kept far below the destination-retreat market, which is why the school draws long-stay travelers and first-time seekers in equal measure.

The community is the real product. Shared classes, shared meals nearby and a village of like-minded people make it one of the world's easiest places to arrive alone.
