Light My Fire is a rustic bamboo bar and restaurant at the far north end of Koh Ngai's main beach, below Cliff Beach Resort, and the closest thing the island has to nightlife. Evenings bring live music and impromptu jam sessions, a barbecue and cocktails, and the owner, Don, makes a point of sitting down with every table to talk.
It's open from 11:30 to midnight, and by day it's a café too, with a big list of coffees brewed by hand. Reviewers rate it the friendliest place on the island, and it's worth the walk up the beach from the southern resorts, best at low tide, when there's sand all the way. There are a few very basic bamboo huts with shared bathrooms for walk-in guests.
