Big C Supercenter Krabi

This is an errand, not an outing. If you're in a place with a kitchen, or you're heading out to the islands tomorrow and need water, sunscreen and snacks that won't melt, the big supercenter on Phet Kasem Road handles all of it in one air-conditioned stop. Fresh produce, packaged Thai food, imported brands, toiletries, clothes, household bits, beach gear. Sections are laid out clearly enough that you won't be wandering.

What I'd actually spend time on is the Thai snack aisles. Curry pastes, dried fruit, sachets of instant coffee, the sort of thing that costs three times as much back home and makes a better souvenir than anything you'll find on a stall. Longer-stay travellers get the most out of a place like this, because you can mix the recognisable stuff with things you'd never pick up otherwise. Day-trippers with one afternoon in Krabi town, though, should give it a miss and spend that time elsewhere.
