MegaHome Chiang Rai
MegaHome Chiang Rai is a spacious warehouse-style home improvement and home goods store located on Phahon Yothin Road, catering primarily to locals tackling renovation or construction projects but drawing in travellers who need practical household items during longer stays. The store carries a broad range of products spanning building materials, power tools, garden supplies, furniture, décor accessories, and paint — including a colour-mixing service that lets customers create custom shades on the spot. The layout is well-organised and easy to navigate, with clearly defined sections across a large retail floor. Reviewers have compared the experience to a large-format hardware chain back home, noting that prices have become more competitive in recent years and the overall range is strong. Staff are generally helpful and attentive, though some shoppers have noted that sales assistants in certain departments can be quite pushy when it comes to recommending products, particularly power tools — doing a little independent research beforehand is advisable if buying anything technical. Good to know: MegaHome opens daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, offering consistent access throughout the week. While delivery services are available for larger purchases, at least one reviewer has experienced delays, so travellers relying on prompt delivery should factor that in before committing to a large order. The store is best suited to those on extended trips or living temporarily in the Chiang Rai area rather than short-stay tourists, though it can be worth a stop for anyone seeking affordable home décor or practical items not found in typical souvenir markets.

Visitor Reviews
Beautiful spacious warehouse with anything and everything you may need for home / garden/ construction etc. They also sell paint (they have a mixer machine that can create the colour for you). The aisles are wide and easy to navigate. Plenty of parking space outside and generally not a busy main road. Well staffed, helpful and friendly. The items are more expensive compared to outside but you're paying for the experience and possible customer service I suppose.
I think it is a good place to get decorating stuff for home or office. There is a promotion for some products. The staff here is very nice and helpful.
Great selection of all things homes and gardens. Aircon. Sales staff are a bit pushy; so your own research before buying any power tools, otherwise staff will just push you to product that gives them best commission rather than what’s actually best for you.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
