Nak Nakara Hotel
Compare prices
Situated on Uttarakit Road in central Chiang Rai, this well-regarded city hotel places guests within easy reach of the Night Bazaar, the Clock Tower, and reliable transport connections to landmarks including the White Temple and Blue Temple. Despite its urban location, the property maintains a notably quiet and private atmosphere — a combination that sets it apart from more typical city-centre accommodation. Rooms are spacious, clean, and kept to a consistently high standard. A swimming pool adds a welcome touch of comfort after days spent sightseeing, and the staff earn particular praise for their attentiveness and willingness to help. Several complimentary extras distinguish the hotel from comparable properties: guests have access to a free minibar, unlimited fresh fruit, non-alcoholic drinks, umbrellas, and bicycles — practical inclusions that make independent exploration of the city and its surroundings noticeably easier. The building's architecture also gives the property a more distinctive character than most hotels in this price bracket. Good to know: Chiang Rai's peak season runs from November to February, when cool, dry conditions draw the highest number of visitors — booking well in advance during this period is advisable. The complimentary bicycles are a practical bonus for reaching nearby temples and local markets without relying on transport, so packing a small daypack and sun protection is worthwhile. Visitor Reviews
By far the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The staff was genuinely nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The architecture of the hotel is also interesting. We were so happy the shower water gets really hot since our Chiang Mai hotel it only was slightly warm. The included breakfast was also good for hotel breakfast quality. Would definitely book here again.
Wonderful hotel, great location, two blocks from the night markets and three blocks from the clocktower. I love the little added extras like a free mini bar and free unlimited fruit. The staff at reception were excellent with their recommendations and helpfulness, the grounds and gardens are lovely. Rooms are good, my room on the ground floor didn’t have a view.
Our room was clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, breakfast was very good, and staff were friendly and helpful. Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, use of umbrellas and bicycles were nice bonuses. The only negative was that the wi-fi in our room was spotty, but that was an inconvenience rather than an actual problem.
