Why go, and how to do it well

Love Koh Tao is a viewpoint with a café attached, up a hill on the island's east side above Tanote Bay. The view over the bay is the draw, with two or three photo platforms and plenty of seating.

Entry is ฿20 a person unless you buy something, and a bottle of water is ฿30, so most people just order a drink. It faces east, which makes it a sunrise spot rather than a sunset one.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.

Check Operator Safety Records

For adventure activities (zip-lining, bungee jumping, diving), check recent reviews specifically mentioning equipment condition and safety briefings. Thailand's regulation varies — reputable operators will have insurance and certified guides.
