Bamboo Thai Cooking School Hua Hin & Cha Am
Bamboo Thai Cooking School, located along Phet Kasem Road between Hua Hin and Cha Am, offers hands-on cooking classes where guests learn to prepare authentic Thai dishes using fresh, traditional ingredients. Led by Anya and her team, the school is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, guiding participants through recipes such as green curry, coconut chicken soup, Pad Thai, and tom kha — with an emphasis on understanding the techniques and flavours behind each dish rather than simply following steps. Classes are available in different formats, including an express option for those short on time, making the experience accessible to a range of schedules and skill levels. Pickup and drop-off service is included, adding a convenient, well-organised element to the day. Participants cook with fresh ingredients and sit down to eat what they have prepared, making it both a culinary lesson and a satisfying meal. Classes run seven days a week from 09:30 to 18:00, so booking on any day of the week is possible. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, as group sizes appear to be kept small to ensure a personal and attentive experience. Visitors can check availability and book directly through the school's website at bamboothaicooking.com. This is a particularly good activity for families, couples, and solo travellers looking to bring something genuinely practical home from their time in Thailand.

Visitor Reviews
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Bamboo Thai Cooking School in Hua Hin, and it was an unforgettable experience. Anya and her team provided a warm, welcoming environment where we learned to prepare authentic Thai dishes using fresh, homegrown ingredients from her garden. The class was well-organized and paced, making it suitable for all skill levels. Anya's clear instructions and passion for Thai cuisine made the learning process enjoyable and educational. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the session. I left with new culinary skills, a deeper appreciation for Thai culture, and a collection of delicious recipes to try at home. I highly recommend this cooking school to anyone visiting Hua Hin—it's a delightful and enriching experience.
We enjoyed a wonderful day learning (and eating!) authentic Thai cuisine at Bamboo Thai Cooking School. From pickup to drop-off, Khun Anya and her team treated us to a truly memorable experience - learning about Thai herbs and ingredients on a tour of her amazing garden, then using those to prepare a menu of four dishes, cooking along with Anya step-by-step at our own individual stations. Anya explained everything so clearly and it was well-paced, and the results were absolutely delicious. We felt we’d got the inside secrets on making our favourite Thai dishes - including making curry paste by hand! We highly recommend this unique experience while visiting Hua Hin / Cha-Am!
Absolutely fantastic day spent cooking the most amazing Thai food! We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Well organised and Anya is so knowledgeable and passionate about Thai food. We enjoyed everything about the day, particularly the tour of the herb garden first. My sister and I learned so much and enjoyed all of the wonderful Thai dishes we created, under Anya's watchful eye. You should definitely make a point of doing this when you're in the area!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
