Phoenix Adventure Park
Set in the forested hills of Mae Rim, about 30 to 40 minutes north of Chiang Mai city centre, Phoenix Adventure Park offers a range of outdoor activities suited to families, couples, and active travellers looking to get out of the city. The park sits within a large, scenic natural area and draws visitors with its combination of ziplining across multiple stations, high ropes courses, and gentler options for younger children, including a small train that runs through the grounds. The atmosphere is calm and well-organised, with safety highlighted as a clear priority by staff and visitors alike. Guides are described as friendly and attentive, helping both adults and young children feel comfortable throughout activities. The park works well for mixed-age groups, with options accessible enough for children as young as three while still offering a reasonable challenge for older kids and adults. The surrounding scenery adds to the appeal, with mountain views and lush greenery throughout the grounds. Good to know: Phoenix Adventure Park opens daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, giving visitors flexibility for either a half-day or full-day outing. Wear closed-toe athletic shoes and bring water, sun protection, and light layers for cooler mornings. Checking the website at phoenixadventurepark.com before visiting is recommended to confirm current activity availability and whether advance booking is required, particularly during busy holiday periods.

Visitor Reviews
Its a very beautiful and calm place with a very big area. Our zip lining experience was good. Thanks to the guide named Ball and Pae. They were really friendly and helpful. In the area they also have sheep farming. Allover it can be a very nice and fun place for children’s.
We had a great time there. We went on New Year’s Day, but it wasn’t crowded at all. The weather was perfect, and the scenery was beautiful. My 3-year-old loved the little train and also really enjoyed the playground. I had coffee and a meal, and both were good. The food prices were reasonable—not expensive. Aside from the food, I spent only 180 THB on train tickets for two adults and 20 THB on feeding the sheep. We stayed there for about 4 hours because my kids loved the place so much. Overall, there’s nothing to complain about.
A great day out for kids and the whole family. Safety is clearly a top priority, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and very helpful, making both kids and parents feel at ease throughout the activities. The basic package starts at 700 baht and includes high ropes, zipline, and a fun train ride—excellent value for a full day of adventure. There’s also a café and playground, plus a beautiful, comfortable waiting area where parents to relax while the kids enjoy themselves.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
