Timing is the real appeal here. The kitchen is going by 7am and doesn't stop until 10pm, which matters when you're on the Ban Phe–Ko Samet road with a ferry to catch or a boat just in from the island and nowhere obvious to eat. Seafood is the focus, as you'd expect a few minutes from the pier in Rayong province.

Set your expectations to match the setting. Phe is a working port town, not a destination, and this is a big, busy, unfussy seafood place rather than somewhere you'd travel for. Feedback is mixed enough that I'd treat it as a convenient meal rather than a highlight of the trip. Order simply, stick to whatever's fresh off the boat, and don't expect much in the way of polish or fast service when tour groups and ferry crowds arrive at once.

If you've got hours in Bangkok or on Samet instead, eat there. If you're stuck in Phe with a bag and an hour to kill, this does the job.

Getting there

Bus or minivan from Bangkok's Ekkamai terminal to Ban Phe pier in Rayong (~3–4 hrs), then a 40-minute ferry or 15-minute speedboat to Na Dan pier. The island is part of a national park, so foreigners pay a ฿200 entry fee on arrival.
