Koh Samet Pier for Boat Transport

This is the gateway to Koh Samet, and that's all it is. Boats run between here and Ban Phe on the mainland through the day, carrying passengers, supplies and sometimes vehicles across a crossing that takes roughly half an hour depending on the boat and where it leaves from. Several operators share the route, with longtail boats and bigger ferries both running and prices shifting by vessel type. Weekends and Thai public holidays are the busy stretch, so expect crowds and a bit of jostling for a seat.

Don't come expecting anything scenic. Ticket counters, a waiting area, vendors nearby, and that's the sum of it. My advice is to treat it as a twenty-minute stop rather than somewhere to linger, and to get your ferry sorted before you start browsing snacks.
