Ao Hin Khok

Ao Hin Khok is a small, picturesque bay on the western side of Koh Samet, one of the islands accessible from the port town of Phe in Rayong Province. The beach is known for its characteristic rocky outcrops, which give it a more intimate and sheltered feel compared to some of Koh Samet's larger, busier beaches. The clear turquoise water and relatively calm conditions make it a popular spot for swimming and simply unwinding on the sand. The atmosphere at Ao Hin Khok leans relaxed and unhurried, attracting visitors who prefer a quieter alternative to the island's more commercialised stretches of coastline. A handful of beachside bars and small eateries operate along the shore, making it easy to spend a full day here without venturing far. The rocky landscape adds visual interest and provides natural shade in places, giving the beach a distinctive character that sets it apart. Koh Samet falls within a designated national park, so visitors should be aware that an entrance fee applies upon arrival on the island. The beach is accessible year-round, though the dry season between November and April generally offers the most settled weather and calmest sea conditions. As with all national park beaches in Thailand, visitors are expected to keep the area clean and respect the natural environment during their stay.
