Cactus Bar holds the centre of Haad Rin's Sunrise Beach, which on Full Moon Party night makes it the de facto main stage: one of the original party bars, pushing the biggest commercial dance sound of the strip from a stage that has anchored the madness for decades. Between moons it runs as Haad Rin's reliable beachfront night out — fire shows, buckets, dance floor on the sand — busy every night of the week in high season while the rest of the strip breathes between parties. On the big night, its frontage is where the crowd is thickest and the people-watching best; the classic move is to use it as your anchor point — meet here, wander the strip's dozen sound systems, return when you lose everyone. The fire-limbo and jump-rope shows nearby are exactly as dangerous as they look; spectating is free and stitch-free. Good to know: no cover charge on regular nights; the Full Moon Party itself has a small beach entry fee collected at the walkways. Buckets are the currency — count yours.
