Why go, and how to do it well
Koh Usen is the tiny island a few hundred meters off Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe, and three of the Koh Lipe guides I checked include it. It's the island you can reach without a boat tour. Rent a kayak on Sunrise Beach and paddle over, and snorkel around its rocks.
The guides warn that the currents around it can be strong, so check them before swimming out and stay close to the island once you're there.
