Praiwan Raft House is a family-run floating raft house on Cheow Lan Lake that describes itself as a floating home. It's in the lake's superior tier, above the bamboo rafts but well below the luxury resorts. Standard rooms are simple, close to the basic rafts, while deluxe rooms add a private bathroom but are cooled by fans rather than air conditioning.

That makes it a fair middle choice for a cooler month, from about November to January, and a harder one in the hot season, from February to May, when nights on the lake can be warm without air conditioning.
