Misty Valley - Doichang

5.0(50 reviews)

Nestled in the highlands of Doi Chang in Chiang Rai province, Misty Valley is a boutique resort villa offering an intimate escape amid rolling mountains and mist-covered valleys. The property features villa-style accommodation, including two-bedroom options with private pools, making it a strong choice for families or small groups seeking both comfort and seclusion. The setting is the defining feature here — guests consistently describe the mountain panoramas as breathtaking, and the combination of an infinity pool and outdoor bathtub makes the most of the dramatic natural surroundings. The resort caters well to larger groups, with the option to book the entire property privately. Common spaces include a lobby with a pool table and games, framed by large windows that bring the landscape indoors. Staff receive particular praise for attentive, personalised service that contributes to the relaxed, home-like atmosphere throughout a stay. Doi Chang sits at elevation, meaning temperatures are cooler than lowland Chiang Rai, especially in the mornings and evenings — packing a light layer is advisable regardless of the season. The resort is managed through its Facebook page, so prospective guests should reach out directly there to check availability and confirm rates before booking, as details are not listed on major accommodation platforms.

Visitor Reviews

TL;DR: you absolutely should book this if you are considering it. 10/10. Breathtaking. Blissful. Serene. Staying at Misty Vally Resort was an unforgettable experience — truly 10/10. If you’re considering booking, don’t hesitate. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us like family. Our villa was stunning, with panoramic valley views and a tea-and-biscuit setup waiting for us. We stayed three nights and wished we could stay forever. The staff made all the difference. Som, the manager, was incredible — giving us her personal WhatsApp and arranging everything from a private driver to personalized recommendations. Everyone was warm, attentive, and patient (even when we were late to everything). The only minor areas of improvement I can think of: The pool was a bit too cold and constantly filled with bugs during our stay (wet season); I would have been happy to clean it if we had our own personal sifter (I didn’t want to bother the staff more than we had 😅)and the outdoor furniture was nice could probably use an update (but that might be a personal preference) - overall, these were small trade-offs for such a magical place. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, Misty Vally, for such a special stay!

We had one of the most incredible stay here during our trip. We booked the entire place for a family of 13 and we really enjoyed the space and privacy. The owners and staff took care of the littlest details at every touch points and we really appreciated that. Everything in the villa was well thought out, from the pool table to the outdoor pool and bathtub, these were great for family bonding. They welcomed us with great hospitality and it truly felt like a home away from home. Rooms were well designed and clean. We all had a good night sleep cause the beds were so comfortable. The view from the villas were breathtaking, and we particularly enjoyed the dinner at the deck. The food was amazing and we ended the night with toasting marshmallows by the bonfire. Heartfelt thanks to owners Joom and Tum who took time to host us and provided us with great food recommendations at Chiangrai. It was lovely knowing you both! We would love to return soon!

A truly superb, magnificent villa with breathtaking views of the mountains, infinity pool and then outdoor bathtub, absolutely gorgeous place. Beautiful lobby with pool table and games and large windows. Lovely tasty breakfast with superior service. The staff was always there for us for whatever we needed. Can't wait to return.❤️🇹🇭
