Free beach to shark bay

This popular route on Koh Tao links a small free-access beach to Shark Bay, one of the island's most well-known snorkelling spots. The path winds along the southern part of the island and rewards walkers with coastal scenery, clear turquoise water, and the chance to explore two distinct beach areas on foot. Shark Bay itself is named for the blacktip reef sharks that are occasionally spotted in its shallow, sheltered waters, making it a draw for snorkellers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
