Klong Kloi Beach

Klong Kloi, also called Bang Bao Beach, is the southernmost beach on Koh Chang, about 1 km along the road past the turn-off to Bang Bao village. It's a bay of soft white sand lined with beach bars, massage huts and small resorts, with a reggae bar or two and paddleboards for rent, and it's the beach many people call the prettiest on the island.

The bay is sheltered from the southwest and westerly winds that bring waves and rip currents to the rest of the west coast, so the water stays calm when the other beaches are rough, even in the rainy season. The sand is narrow, though, and there's little of it left at high tide. Walk a couple of hundred meters along the beach and it gets much quieter, since the day-trippers stay near the road.
