Why go, and how to do it well
Sai Noi is the small cove I'd send you to if you came to Hua Hin to swim. It sits below Khao Tao hill about 16 km south of town, half an hour or less by car, a short curve of soft sand between rocky headlands where the water is clearer and calmer than on the long town beach. The name means little sand, and it is little, which is the appeal: on a weekday you share it with a few Thai families and some long-stayers from the condos behind Khao Tao.
There isn't much here and that's deliberate. A few loungers and umbrellas are rented on the sand, a couple of small Thai food stalls and cafes sit behind it, and the temple and viewpoint on the hill above, Hat Sai Noi Khao Tao Viewpoint, are a short climb if you want the view down over the bay. Khao Tao Beach and Suan Son Pradiphat are both a few minutes back toward town if you want a longer walk.

Tips for Visiting Beaches
Go Early for Empty Sand
Even the busiest beaches are nearly deserted before 9 AM. Sunrise walks on Kata, Chaweng, or Railay are magical — and you'll beat the heat for a morning swim.
Use Reef-Safe Sunscreen
Many Thai marine parks ban chemical sunscreens that damage coral. Bring reef-safe (mineral/zinc-based) sunscreen from home — it's harder to find and pricier in Thailand.
Explore Beyond the Main Strip
Every popular beach area has quieter alternatives nearby. Rent a scooter and ride 10 minutes from Patong to find Freedom Beach, or head to Phuket's northeast coast for nearly empty shores.
