Elixir Divers & Boat Tours Koh Yao Yai
Operating from the quieter shores of Koh Yao Yai in Phang Nga's Ko Yao District, this diving and boat tour outfit runs guided dive expeditions, snorkelling trips, and private speedboat tours through some of the region's most scenic coastal waters. With access to the limestone karsts and coral-rich marine environments around Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay, the operator caters to a wide range of experience levels — from newly certified divers completing their first open water dives to families seeking a comfortable day on the water without any diving at all. Visitors consistently highlight the quality and attentiveness of the guides, with staff noted for adapting to individual experience levels and keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. Private tours can be arranged for families or groups, and communication ahead of arrival is handled conveniently via WhatsApp. Food is provided on trips, and the crew's friendly approach is a recurring theme across visitor accounts. Good to know: Koh Yao Yai is reached by a short boat transfer from Phuket, making it a practical base for marine activities away from the busier tourist corridors. The peak season runs from November through April, when sea conditions are most favourable for diving and boat tours, so booking ahead through the operator's website at elixirdivers.com is advisable during this period. Those prone to motion sickness should come prepared, and reef-safe sunscreen is recommended for all water-based activities.

Visitor Reviews
I’m embarrassed to write that it’s taken me a few months to get around to leaving this review. . . (Sorry Igor). We joined Elixir as a family of five, plus my son’s girlfriend for a few days of diving in December of 2025. My Son’s girlfriend needed to get certified and Elixir took good care of her during her course. The rest of us are certified and joined her for her open water dives. Igor and his crew provide an excellent service - Lunch, cold drinks, and fresh cut fruit is provided on the boat. The dive boat is one of the best designs / layouts I’ve seen in this part of the world. Easy ingress / egress and plenty of shade for those that want it (like me). Loads of gear storage locations and even though it was a full boat each day, it never felt over-crowded. The equipment is in excellent condition and is well maintained. Equipment condition is often a complaint of mine, but it was not an issue at Elixir at all. Igor’s communication is second-to-none and he always responded right away to all of my messages while I tried to organize our big group to join with the dives. I’m a PADI instructor since 1990, and have owned and operated dive shops all over the world. I can honestly say that Elixir is one of the best operations that I’ve come across in my 35 years of doing this dive stuff. Thanks again Igor and team. See you next time!
Absolutely fantastic. We end up doing 6 dives in 3 days. Wives joined as well for last day snorkelling in Phi Phi. Igor was an amazing host. We had just finished a SSI OWD in London and Igor adapted his approach to a much more attentive to our lack of experience. He made sure we were safe and comfortable at all times and clearly knows the dive sites very well. Amazing boats that provided a friendly environment with plenty of fruit, water, and Coca-Cola available for everyone between dives. We rented a scooter in the Hotel in the morning, advised by Igor, and drove to Elixir. It is cheaper and more fun than taking a transfer and also allowed us to explore the island during the rest of the days. Highly recommend this centre to anyone looking for a safe, well-organized, and genuinely enjoyable diving experience in Koh Yao Yai!
We booked a private speedboat tour to Phi Phi islands for our family of 5, which also included my 9 month old. Communication was excellent and everything was organised easily via WhatsApp. Since it was a private tour, we were able to start early and miss out on the crowds to Maya Bay and actually enjoy it. The boat staff were very friendly and very accommodating, and my 9 month old was safe the entire boat trip. It was such an amazing and pleasant day for our family, and we would definitely book with them again in the future if staying on Koh Yao Yai.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
