The second trek is the reason to come. Reviewers keep saying the same thing: the first climb is the easy one with a good view, and the steeper one above the lagoon is what they still talk about afterwards. If you're reasonably fit, do it. If you're not, the lower viewpoint and the lagoon still justify the trip, and nobody will rush you.
This is an archipelago of 42 islands, all limestone peaks, jungle and sheltered water, and almost everyone arrives on an organised day tour from Koh Samui. A typical day mixes a snorkel stop, the lagoon, kayaking around an islet and a Thai lunch on board, with enough slack in the schedule that it doesn't feel like a conveyor belt. The snorkelling is decent rather than world-class, plenty of small colourful fish in clear water. What you're really paying for is the scenery, layer after layer of green and blue, particularly from the hilltop above what tours call Monkey Island.

Definitely a place to visit, the day tour to it is very complete with beautiful places and enough time to not feel rushed by the tour and as well do many things. We were lucky we went on a cloudy day so there wasn’t a lot of people, astonishing landmark. The tour consists in a small snorkel dive, visit to a beautiful lagoon, some kayak around a small islet, a very good Thai lunch and a hike to one of the most impactful view I ever witnessed.
Absolutely stunning marine park with turquoise water, limestone islands, and breathtaking viewpoints. The scenery is incredible, both from the boat and from the hilltop trails. Snorkeling and kayaking are great ways to explore the area. Well organized tours and respectful handling of nature. A must-visit when staying around Koh Samui or Koh Phangan.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Snorkling and can see lots of pretty fish. The viewpoint on the monkey island is stunning! Would absolutely recommend to anyone vacationing on Koh samui to see the crystal blue waters
