Than Sadet-Ko Pha-Ngan National Park covers a substantial portion of Koh Phangan's interior and coastline, preserving dense tropical rainforest, dramatic waterfalls, rugged mountain terrain, and sheltered coves that remain largely untouched by the island's more commercial beach scene. The park holds particular historical significance, having been visited by several Thai kings, and the Than Sadet waterfall — after which the park is named — bears royal inscriptions carved into the rocks along its banks.

Access to some areas of the park is easiest by motorbike or organized tour, as the roads leading into the interior can be steep and rough.
