Sai Yok National Park covers a long stretch of forest and limestone hills along the Khwae Noi river, northwest of Kanchanaburi town on the road to Hellfire Pass and the Burmese border. Its headquarters area holds the park's signature sight, Sai Yok Yai, two small waterfalls that tumble straight into the river beside a suspension footbridge.
The park is quieter than Erawan and better for a slow day by the river than for a big hike. Sai Yok Yai is at its best from June or July, once the rains have filled it, and the Sai Yok Noi falls, the park's roadside waterfall, sit further south near Nam Tok station. Raft resorts on this part of the Khwae Noi, River Kwai Jungle Rafts among them, make it an overnight stop rather than a day trip.
