Families are the whole point here. Nine slides and seven different pools sit inside the Black Mountain resort grounds, which means gentle splash areas for small kids at one end and faster rides for teenagers who'll spend four hours climbing the same steps at the other. If you've got a mixed-age group and a day to burn, that spread is the reason to come. If you're two adults after a quiet swim, it isn't for you.
There's food on site, so nobody has to be dragged out wet and hungry mid-afternoon. The feel is resort rather than theme park, which suits Hua Hin generally. My advice is to arrive close to opening on a weekday, when the lines for the bigger slides are shortest, and treat Saturday's later closing as your option if you want to stretch the day out.
