Moon Detox
Nestled in the countryside of Phan District, Chiang Rai, Moon Detox is a residential wellness retreat offering structured detox and fasting programs guided by hosts Moon and Lucky, who bring years of dedicated knowledge to every program. The retreat draws visitors seeking a genuine, immersive reset rather than a day-spa experience, with multi-day programs — including options around 3.5 and 7 days — built around herbal protocols, yoga sessions, and gentle cycling through the surrounding rice paddies.
The atmosphere is notably personal and family-like, with guests frequently describing a sense of being genuinely cared for throughout their stay. Programs such as the Longevity Program combine physical detoxification with education about health and the body, giving participants practical knowledge to carry home alongside the physical benefits. The rural setting adds to the experience, offering calm and natural surroundings that complement the retreat's focus on rest and renewal.
Moon Detox operates seven days a week from 10:00 to 18:00, though as a residential retreat, prospective visitors should contact the centre directly or visit the website at moondetoxthailand.com to discuss program availability, duration options, and pricing before arrival. Given the structured nature of multi-day programs, advance booking is strongly recommended. The location in Than Thong, Phan District sits outside central Chiang Rai, so arranging transport ahead of time is advisable.

Reviews from Google
Best fasting experience ever - by a million miles I did the 7 day Longevity program and left Moon Detox and Spa rejuvenated, refreshed, humbled, very happy and inspired - and light as a feather. Moon and Luck live a remarkably aligned life, they have certainly found their calling. They are deeply connected to their land and plants and in their huge vegetable gardens they grow an abundance of organic vegetables and herbs. They are incredibly knowledgeable about herbs and their nutritional benefits and medicinal properties (Lucky has been studying to become a Traditional Thai Herb and Medicine doctor). Both Moon and Luck are life long learners with many years of experience. Luck’s repertoire of deep body work techniques is second to none; she is truly gifted and a Master of her trait. I enjoyed Luck’s yoga practice and guidance and although I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years her flow included so many poses that highlighted weaknesses of my body (and breath) which I am now inspired to work on. The morning cycling tours with Moon along the rice fields were a highlight. Moon and Luck are very generous with their time, are caring and lovingly tend to their family, friends, staff, animals and of course customers alike (many of them now friends) They are deeply committed to support their customers on their healing journey. I can’t wait to be back :-)
We just completed a 5.5 day 7 night detox at Moon Detox. Moon, Lucky and their amazing team are some of the kindest and caring people we have had the pleasure of meeting. We learnt soo much about our bodies and how to properly take care, and maintain our health. We lost weight and we feel great. We will be back next year as Moon Detox is now one of our favourite places in the world. The location is magical and soo peaceful and only a short drive to town. Bicycling around the local community was also plenty of fun and the people were incredibly friendly. We can’t rate Moon Detox highly enough!
Best detox experience ever. Moon and Lucky are so passionate and knowledgable. They bring years of experience and learning. The days pass so easily with wonderful bike rides through the rice paddies, expertly guided yoga, massage, herbal steam room and more, all in the idylic surroundings of rural Thailand. I feel absolutely blessed to have found this place and will most certainly be returning. It’s as good for the soul as it is for the body. Moon, Lucky and their staff are so lovingly attentive.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
