Wongwian Yai Railway Station
A scruffy little commuter terminal in an alley, and the start of the cheap route to Maeklong.

About Wongwian Yai Railway Station
This is where you catch the train to Maha Chai, and for most travelers that means it's step one of the trip to the Maeklong railway market. It's ฿10 a head with free seating, or ฿25 if you land one of the air-con carriages, which only some trains carry (the 07:00 and the 10:40 among them). Departures run roughly hourly from 05:30 to 20:10, sometimes with a two-hour gap, and the 07:00 is the one I'd take, since it gets you across the river at Mahachai in good time for the 10:10 train on from Ban Laem to Maeklong.
Don't expect a station in the grand sense. It sits inside a row of shophouses down a small alley and is genuinely easy to walk past, with street vendors and little businesses crowded around it. Early morning is when it's at its most interesting, with shopkeepers opening up, monks collecting alms, the station master ringing a bell before departure. The seats are hard and dusty, and reviewers are emphatic about not leaning out of the window unless you want to be clipped by a branch. Weekday mornings are quieter.

Reviews from Google
If you want to go to the Maeklong train market, you can take a train from here to Mahachai. Ticket is 10bht per person, free seating and train leaves on time. I took the 7.40am train. There's a big construction going on around here. Make sure to plan your time properly so you wont miss the train passing at the Maeklong market.
Despite the city location this train station still offers a glimpse of Thailand's more rural life... Shopkeepers greet early morning shoppers.. bells ring.. monks are walking the station collecting merit and alms offering blessings and prayer in return. The ticketing office closes a few minutes before the departure of each train. The station master will ring a bell right before departure. The train arrives literally 2 minutes before it's next departure from.. so turn around is very quick.. be prepared to haul yourself (on or off) in double-time. Once the train rolls out of the station . Life carries on until the next train arrives.. and the whole process repeats itself.
Local commuter terminal train station nested within the rows of shop houses. Train departs to Maha Chai. Relatively small station, with rows of street vendors and small businesses.

Use Grab Everywhere
Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works across Thailand for cars, motorbike taxis, and even tuk-tuks in some cities. It eliminates haggling and provides fare estimates upfront. Load a Thai SIM or use eSIM to stay connected.
Rent Scooters Carefully
Always photograph the scooter's existing damage before riding off, and keep your passport — give a photocopy instead (some shops insist on the original; avoid these). Wear a helmet; police fine 500 THB for no helmet and accidents without one void insurance.
