Why go, and how to do it well
Every island has a shop you end up in more than you expected, and on Koh Tao this is one of them. It's open around the clock, seven days a week, which matters more here than it would in Bangkok. Boats arrive at odd hours, dives finish late, and the small shops near the beaches tend to shutter early. If you land at midnight and need water, a phone charger or something to eat before bed, this is where you go.
Don't come expecting anything more than that. It's a functional convenience shop, stocked for daily life on a small island rather than for browsing. Groceries, drinks, snacks, household basics. Prices on Koh Tao run higher than the mainland across the board, which is just what happens when everything arrives by boat, so don't be surprised.
My advice is to work out where it sits relative to your accommodation on day one. Restocking water and sunscreen is a lot easier when you already know the walk.
