About Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas
Anantara Koh Yao Yai is the island's other big luxury resort, a resort of rooms and villas on Koh Yao Yai's east coast with the karst islands of Phang Nga Bay laid out in front of it. Where Santhiya on the west coast gets the sunset, Anantara gets the view east into the bay, the same outlook that sells the resorts on Koh Yao Noi.
Like the other large resorts here, it handles its own transfers from Phuket, so guests don't need to work out the public boat timetable. It's the more polished, brand-name alternative to Koh Yao Noi's boutique places, and Koh Yao Yai itself is quieter and less developed than its smaller neighbor.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
Location Matters More Than Stars
A well-located 3-star hotel often beats a remote 5-star resort. In Bangkok, staying near a BTS or MRT station saves hours; on islands, proximity to the beach you actually want matters most.
