Phuket Immigration Office

The main office in Phuket Town, the Patong office, the closed Blue Tree counter, and the 30-day extension

By Mac Kiley · 11 min read · Updated Oct 31, 2026

Phuket Immigration has two offices open, the main office at 482 Phuket Road in Phuket Town, open weekdays 08:30 to 16:30 with a lunch break, and a small office on Patong's beach road, open weekdays 10:00 to 15:00, while the Blue Tree counter in Choeng Thale has been closed since 19 October 2026 with no reopening date. Go to Room 101 at the main office for a tourist extension, a re-entry permit, a 90-day report or a residence certificate, and call 076 221 905 (Patong 076 340 477) before you make the trip.

The short answer

Go to the main office at 482 Phuket Road in Phuket Town, Room 101 on the ground floor, for a 30-day tourist extension or anything else. The Patong office handles 90-day reports and some short extensions on shorter hours. Blue Tree is closed until further notice, and every office shuts on weekends and public holidays.

Addresses, phones and hours are from Phuket Immigration's contact pages, read as archived copies because the office's website now shows a blank hosting page. The Blue Tree closure and Room 101 are from Phuket Immigration's superintendent as reported by The Phuket News on 22 October 2026, and Blue Tree Phuket's own page lists the counter as temporarily closed. Patong's services are from the office's volunteer help desk and visitors' accounts.

The Main Office on Phuket Road

The Phuket Immigration Office most people mean is the provincial office at 482 Phuket Road in Talat Yai, on the southern edge of Phuket Town near Saphan Hin. Its own history page says immigration opened here in 1928, in a wooden building beside the mangroves, and the office still stands on the same site. It handles every service the province offers, from a tourist's 30-day extension to retirement and marriage extensions, residence certificates and TM.30 for landlords.

It opens at 08:30, Monday to Friday, closes for lunch from 12:00 to 13:00 and stops at 16:30. With Blue Tree closed, the superintendent told The Phuket News that visitor numbers at Service Counter 101 have roughly doubled and the office is extremely overcrowded, so I'd be there before opening.

Getting to Phuket Road

The office is a short Grab or taxi ride from Old Phuket Town, and the same trip from Patong takes you over the hill into town. It sits around the corner from Phuket Vocational College, whose traffic backs up the road several times a day, so leave a margin around school drop-off and pickup.

Inside, and How the Queue Works

Room 101 on the ground floor handles the short-stay work, tourist extensions, re-entry permits, 90-day reports, address notifications and residence certificates. Walk-ins take a queue ticket for their service and wait for the number to be called. An office spokesperson told The Phuket News during the busy weeks of March 2026 that everyone who is in the queue is served that day.

Phuket Immigration's volunteer help desk sits upstairs in Room 204 every working day, with volunteers who speak nine languages between them, and it's the place to ask if a form or a requirement confuses you. The volunteers also say the office enforces a dress code and won't serve people who ignore it, so wear long pants or a skirt and cover your shoulders.

Phuket Immigration's Facebook page (facebook.com/PhuketImmigration) posts closures and changes. Its website currently shows a blank hosting page, so check Facebook the morning you go.

The Patong Office

The Patong office is on Thaweewong Road, Patong's beach road, in Kathu district. It keeps shorter hours than Phuket Road, 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00 on weekdays, and runs with two officers, although the superintendent says it sees three to four times the visitors Blue Tree did.

It takes 90-day reports and address notifications, and Phuket Immigration sent drive-through users to it when that service closed. The volunteer desk lists Patong for tourist extensions too, and a March 2026 visitor's account says first 30-day extensions were being done there, but other visitors report being told to go to Phuket Town instead. Re-entry permits and medical extensions are main-office work on the volunteers' list. Call 076 340 477 before you rely on Patong for an extension.

Blue Tree Is Closed

Phuket Immigration's Blue Tree service point, on the 3rd floor of the Lifestyle Village at Blue Tree Phuket in Choeng Thale, closed on Monday, 19 October 2026. Blue Tree first announced it as a temporary closure for renovation, and Phuket Immigration's superintendent then told The Phuket News that two of its officers had retired and one had left for police training, that its staff had moved to the main office, and that it would reopen only if more officers were sent to Phuket. No date has been set.

Blue Tree had opened in May 2021 for people living in Thalang, Bang Tao and Laguna, on weekdays from 10:00 to 15:00. Until it reopens, everything it did goes to Phuket Road, and residence certificates are collected at Room 101.

The 30-Day Tourist Extension in Phuket

A visa exemption stamp or a 60-day tourist visa can be extended once, by up to 30 days, for ฿1,900, at the officer's discretion. In Phuket you apply at Room 101 on Phuket Road, or at Patong if it's taking extensions the day you go. The 30 days are added from the end of your current stamp, not from the day you apply, so going a week early costs you nothing.

The Immigration Bureau's handbook for a tourism extension lists your passport and one copy, a TM.7 with a photo attached, a form acknowledging the penalties for overstaying, and the fee, and it counts about 40 minutes of counter work once your documents are complete. The wait for your number comes on top.

Book a Slot or Walk In

Phuket Immigration's online booking page, run on Microsoft Bookings, lists a Tourism service at the main office, timed at 20 minutes and priced at ฿1,900, alongside slots for re-entry permits, 90-day reports and the long-stay extensions. A booked slot is the way around the walk-in queue. Without one, take a queue ticket at Room 101.

1. Hand In Your Documents

When your number is called, hand over your passport, copies of the photo page and your entry stamp (and your visa page if you have a tourist visa), the TM.7 with its 4×6 cm photo, and the overstay acknowledgement form. Visitors report that blank forms, copies and photos can all be sorted out at the office. The officer records your details with a photo of you, takes the ฿1,900 and issues a receipt.

2. Consideration

The officer checks that you qualify and can ask for evidence, such as an onward ticket. The volunteer desk lists an up-to-date address registration as a prerequisite, and while visitors report that Phuket doesn't ask tourists for a TM.30 receipt, I'd have your hotel's name and address on your phone or your landlord's TM.30 receipt with you.

3. The Stamp

If it's approved, the new permission is stamped into your passport and signed. Read the date before you leave the counter.

Applying Online with e-Extension

Phuket is on the Immigration Bureau's online e-Extension system, and VFS Global still lists Blue Tree as the only Phuket office for it, the counter that stamps an approved online application into your passport. With Blue Tree closed, I found no notice saying where Phuket's online approvals are stamped now, so I'd skip the ฿500 service fee and apply in person at Room 101 or book the tourism slot.

Complete documents don't guarantee the extension. The officer decides, the ฿1,900 isn't refunded if you're turned down, and an overstay costs ฿500 a day.

What to Bring for the Extension

A completed TM.7

Fill it in beforehand or take a blank one at the office. My TM.7 guide walks through every field, including the Buddhist Era dates.

One 4×6 cm photo

Glued in the TM.7's photo box. It's larger than a passport photo.

Passport and copies

Your passport plus signed copies of the photo page and your latest entry stamp, and the visa page if you hold a tourist visa.

฿1,900 in cash

Plus the overstay acknowledgement form the office gives you, and your accommodation's address.

Already used your extension, or want to know how a run compares?

The 90-Day Report (TM.47)

Anyone permitted to stay longer than 90 days has to report their address every 90 days on a TM.47. You can report from 15 days before the due date to 7 days after it, and late, you must report in person and pay a ฿2,000 fine, according to the Immigration Bureau's handbook. A tourist on the exemption plus one extension never reaches 90 days and doesn't report.

In Phuket you report at Room 101 on Phuket Road, at the Patong office or online through the Immigration Bureau's TM.47 system, which Phuket Immigration has encouraged people to use. The volunteer desk says the online system can't be used for your first report. The drive-through window outside the main office closed in February 2026 and won't reopen. Bring your passport, a completed TM.47 and your last receipt. There's no fee.

Re-Entry Permits

A re-entry permit keeps an extension or a long-stay permission valid while you leave Thailand and come back. It costs ฿1,000 for a single re-entry or ฿3,800 for multiple re-entries, and the fee isn't refunded if the application is refused. You need a TM.8 with one 4×6 cm photo, your passport and copies of its photo page, visa or extension and latest entry stamp.

In Phuket it's done at Room 101, and the online booking page has a 20-minute re-entry slot. I'd get one in town before the day you fly rather than count on a counter at the airport.

TM.30 and Residence Certificates

TM.30 is the notice that whoever houses a foreigner files with immigration within 24 hours of the guest moving in. A hotel files it for you. In a condo, villa or house rental the owner or landlord is responsible, in person at Room 101 or Patong, by post or online through the Immigration Bureau's system. Filing it yourself in person takes the proof of residence form, copies of your passport pages, a signed copy of the owner's ID and house book, the rental agreement, and a power of attorney with a ฿10 stamp if the owner doesn't come, according to the volunteer desk.

A residence certificate, the letter that confirms your address for a Thai driver's license, is collected at Room 101 now that Blue Tree is closed. Phuket Immigration told The Phuket News in 2021 that it's issued free.

Retirement, Marriage, Education, Business and DTV Extensions

Long-stay extensions are main-office work. The online booking page has slots for retirement, Thai family, teacher, three kinds of study and business extensions, each ฿1,900, plus an Other Long-term Extension slot where you state the reason. It has no DTV category, so DTV holders should ask on 076 221 905 which slot to take. The requirements for each visa are on my visa requirements guide.

The Business Extension Queue

Business extensions have their own booking system on Phuket Immigration's website, one booking per company. You book at least 10 days ahead, bring the documents to the 2nd floor for checking at least five working days before the appointment, and the office takes eight bookings a day. Walk-in queue tickets are still an option.

Immigration at Phuket Airport

Phuket International Airport has its own immigration checkpoint for arrivals and departures, listed on Google as Phuket Airport Immigration Office in Thalang. It's passport control, not an extension office, and I found no official page offering tourist extensions there.

Arriving, you clear passport control with your Thailand Digital Arrival Card, which you file free online within three days before you land. Immigration lines at Phuket are longest from December to February, so file it before you fly and have your onward ticket and hotel address ready.

Opening Hours, Holidays and When to Go

Every Phuket immigration office works Monday to Friday only. Phuket Road opens at 08:30 and closes at 16:30, Patong opens at 10:00 and closes at 15:00, and both break for lunch from 12:00 to 13:00. They close on Thai public holidays and substitution days, and over New Year the main office has closed from 31 December to 4 January.

The office is under more pressure than usual. The superintendent says the cut in the visa exemption to 30 days has sent new arrivals to the counter alongside people still on the old 60 days, and Blue Tree's visitors now come to Phuket Road too. I'd go mid-week at opening time, book the tourism slot if one is free, and never leave an extension to the last working day before a long weekend.

Out-of-Date Information to Ignore

Most pages about Phuket immigration still send people to Blue Tree, some with hours of 10:00 to 16:00. The counter has been closed since 19 October 2026. A Blue Tree search snippet saying it's open daily from 10 a.m. comes from a currency exchange booth on the same page. Guides and forum posts also describe the drive-through 90-day window at Phuket Road, which closed in February 2026 and has been scrapped for good.

You'll find closing times of 16:00 and starts of 09:00 for the main office; its own contact page gives 08:30 to 16:30. Pages written before 15 September 2026 describe extending a 60-day exemption, and the exemption is now 30 days. Some guides tie the 90-day report to your arrival card, but the report is its own TM.47 filing.
