Why go, and how to do it well
Khao Sam Kloe, the Three Sisters, is the photo of Cheow Lan Lake you've probably already seen. Three limestone pillars rise straight out of the water, the tops of karst peaks that the reservoir mostly drowned when the dam was built.
You can only reach it by boat, so it comes as part of a lake trip from Ratchaprapha Pier, and most boats stop here for photos on the way to the floating raft houses. I'd stay a night on the lake rather than doing it as a day trip. Several guests say one day felt rushed.
