Thao Ko Sa Forest Park
Thao Ko Sa Forest Park sits in the Pran Buri district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, roughly an hour south of Hua Hin, and offers a quieter, less commercialised alternative to the region's better-known coastal destinations. The park combines forested terrain with coastal scenery, centred on a small mountain with a hikeable trail leading to a viewpoint overlooking the sea and surrounding landscape. A second trail ventures further to a quiet, largely undiscovered beach, giving the park an adventurous character that rewards visitors willing to stray from the main tourist circuit. The visitor base is predominantly local, which contributes to the unhurried, relaxed atmosphere throughout. Facilities are more developed than the setting might suggest. Beach chairs rent for around 30 baht each and include a table, while an outdoor restaurant serves fresh seafood at modest prices with views across the ocean and moored fishing boats. Staff are noted for being welcoming and unhurried, with no pressure to move on. The mountain trail involves some scrambling and has several drop-offs, making it unsuitable for very young children or elderly visitors with limited mobility. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended for anyone planning to hike. Opening hours are not confirmed online, so checking ahead before making the journey is advisable. The dry season, running from November through February, offers the most comfortable conditions for both hiking and time on the beach in this part of Thailand.

Visitor Reviews
This beach is not only beautiful but also incredibly convenient, with easy parking and well-organized rentals. Beach chairs are available for just 30 baht each, including a table, and you can order delicious food directly from the attentive staff. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, with well-mannered beach dogs patiently resting near the tables. Kids will love collecting the many fun seashells scattered along the shore. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the day!
There is a beautiful & adventurous trail that leads to a quiet, isolated beach. Not recommended for tiny kids & the elderly, as there is some scrambling & several drop-offs, but it is definitely an exciting mini- adventure for older kids & the young at heart. We enjoyed the cool caves & quiet beach, but watch out for cacti on the trail!
There are 2 ways to reach the view point at the top of the mountain. It needs to climb a bit. 1st way is in front of the beach. 2nd way is from the road. It took around 350-400 metres to be there on both sides. Climb a little from both sides but 2nd one is a bit easier. Recommend to start from 2nd way and go down on 1st way.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
