Reggae Bar
Tucked away in the quieter Bo Put neighbourhood of Koh Samui, this casual bar and eatery is the kind of place that rewards those who seek it out. Easy to drive past without a second glance, it has quietly built a devoted following among visitors who stumble upon it and keep coming back. The food is a genuine highlight — everything is freshly made to order, with spring rolls and a varied menu drawing particular praise alongside the drinks. The atmosphere is unhurried and unpretentious, making it equally suited to a lazy afternoon beer or a relaxed evening meal. The owner and staff are consistently noted for their warmth, and the Bo Put setting gives the whole experience a more local, authentic feel compared to the island's busier tourist strips. It functions as much as a food destination as a bar, so arriving hungry is a reasonable strategy. The venue opens at 10:00 most days (11:00 on Sundays) and closes at 22:00, which makes it accessible well beyond typical bar hours. Early evening tends to offer the most comfortable conditions for sitting outside as the heat of the day eases. Given its low-key profile and small size, it can fill up with regulars, so visiting on the earlier side of the evening is a practical approach. Casual beachwear is entirely appropriate.

Visitor Reviews
We visited the Reggae Bar several times while staying in a nearby apartment, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots. The food is fantastic – everything is freshly made to order and the menu has lots of options. The spring rolls were an absolute highlight, but honestly every dish we tried was delicious. On top of that, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, so we always felt right at home. Definitely a place we’d recommend and would love to come back to!
Most unassuming place, if you don’t know about it, you’ll miss it, but if you drive past, trust me it’ll be your loss. Amazing food and great prices. I still think about the crunch of the spring roll and it was hands down one of the best pad thais I’ve had in Thailand.
Fantastic food, nice and chill place. The owner and staff are fabulous. Must visit if you near by or worth a trip to visit here. P.S. We have few dishes but have lots of beers that make our bills a bit higher per head. Chicken cheese burger is outstanding, must try.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
