Go in the evening. That's the whole trick with this place. It's part air-conditioned shopping centre, part outdoor night bazaar, and the two halves work at completely different times of day. Turn up at noon and you get a fairly ordinary mall with fashion shops, accessories and everyday goods. Turn up around dusk and the open-air stalls are filling out, the food court is busy, and the site on Thongyai Road takes on the feel of a proper market rather than a retail park.
The food court is the reason I'd steer people here over a standard mall. Thai and local dishes at prices that won't make you wince, and enough choice that a group with different appetites can all eat in one place. Shopping-wise, don't come expecting anything you can't find elsewhere in Isaan. Come for the browsing, the eating and the crowd.
