Pattaya Floating Market
Spread across a network of canals and wooden walkways on the outskirts of Pattaya, this sprawling market blends traditional Thai shopping with a purpose-built cultural experience. Vendors sell handmade crafts, local produce, souvenirs, clothing, and regional street food from both waterfront shops and a modest selection of boat stalls. The market is divided into four regional zones representing different parts of Thailand, giving visitors a broad — if curated — overview of Thai craft traditions. Highlights include live demonstrations of traditional skills such as hand-carved soap artistry, which several visitors have singled out as a genuine standout. The atmosphere is generally relaxed and photogenic, particularly in the late afternoon when the light softens and crowds thin out. Covered terraces provide shelter from both sun and rain, making it a reasonable option year-round. That said, some visitors note that the experience leans heavily towards tourism, with prices higher than comparable local markets and fewer actual floating vendors than the name might suggest. It suits travellers looking for a comfortable, accessible taste of Thai market culture rather than an authentic trading market. Entry requires a paid admission ticket — currently 200 THB for adults and 100 THB for children, with a small discount available when booking online. The market is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00, and visiting in the early evening is recommended for the best light and a more comfortable temperature. The official website at pattayafloatingmarket.com has current ticketing and event information.

Visitor Reviews
Pattaya floating market was a very enjoyable cultural place. During sunny days or rain you can hide under the teraces and observe local craftmanship. Particularly we watched hand made soap carving skills and beautiful silk and wool scarfs and carpets from Kashmir. Very special about these carpets is thei double coloring depending on angel of light hitting the . You can also enjoy view on canal boats and colourful souvenirs. I tried the local fried coconut pancakes. There are also different cultural happenings based on local schedule in ticket office. We visited the market twice in late morning and benefited from almost uncrowdy shopping streets and shops. Accessible by free shuttle bus for guests of Pattaya Marriott hotel.
I loved this place. We had an hour to explore but the was no where near enough time. (We went there on a tour) Wide variety of things to buy. I was able to grab a couple dresses and some souvenirs for my family and friends. We had some almonds that were delicious and a couple fruit smoothies. We also had a traditional Thai meal...eggs, seafood soup (with the entire shrimp including the head) and another, I think, it was soup...but very spicy. When we first got there, the took us to the other side on a boat, it was like Italy. *fun fact* there is no toilet paper nor paper towels in the bathrooms. So be prepared to let everything air dry....lol But definitely go.
Actually this place is not on our original plan as we would like to visit damnoen saduak floating market next day. Entrance at thb200/adult and thb100/child. Would be cheaper if buy online but have to buy a day earlier. We didn't take the boat ride. There are thai cultural dance and sea muay thai show. Thats differentiate this floating market from others. Musolla with prayer garments available. Managed to bargain the goods for 35% only. Parking space available. We spent about 3 hours here.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
